Woven paper strips cut from the pages of a catalogue. The colours are mainly
yellow and orange and if you look carefully you can see plates on a table. A
paper weaving takes a lot of time to complete, but I love to watch the patterns
interacting as the finished piece develops.
About Jan Bickerton
When I met my husband more than 20 years ago he was an architectural photographer and he taught me to see how the camera sees. He also photographed plants and his close up flowers showing all the bright colour and detail just blew me away. It took me some time before I was happy with my own images but now macro photography is something I especially love to do. My photographic journey has led me to try many styles and techniques but underlying every photo is my love of colour. Mostly toning shades but also strong contrasts. Colour makes my world a richer place. I'm still enjoying creating fine art for empty walls and my images are used on book covers worldwide.
