The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This paper weaving was created using 1 centimetre wide strips of paper cut from a catalogue printed on acid free paper. I wove the strips to create an abstract artwork.
The original weaving is 30" square and the largest work I've completed so far.
About Jan Bickerton
When I met my husband more than 20 years ago he was an architectural photographer and he taught me to see how the camera sees. He also photographed plants and his close up flowers showing all the bright colour and detail just blew me away. It took me some time before I was happy with my own images but now macro photography is something I especially love to do. My photographic journey has led me to try many styles and techniques but underlying every photo is my love of colour. Mostly toning shades but also strong contrasts.
